Outbound travel highlights destinations with cool summer attributes. Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong (China), and Malaysia rank as the top five outbound destinations. Short-haul island trips saw strong growth, with Okinawa hotel bookings in Japan up 98% year-on-year and Jeju Island bookings in South Korea up 44%. Chartering a car for island vacations has become a popular choice for many tourists this summer, with Phuket in Thailand and Sabah in Malaysia seeing order increases of over 170%. Overseas long-haul car rentals also continued to rise, with significant growth in destinations like Australia, Italy, and Germany.
